As with all the previous Nerf products we have purchased for our grandson, this one pleased him to the max. He especially likes that he can interchange the parts with his other blasters to create his own version of the N-Strike. Although he will have outgrown the Nerf products by Christmas, they will remain a happy part of his childhood. He may store and give them to his own children one day. Also, each Nerf product through the years has served some educational purposes, such as organizational and social skills (storing the “bullets” so as to have them readily available later, designing new versions of each product and learning the proper use of tools in the process, target practice – he is now a Scout with awards in target shooting and bow and arrow – and sharing the items while enjoying playtime with friends and siblings).

If you have 2 or more boys in the house, this one of the most fun of all game activities they can do indoor. I remember when we were kids, we were shooting with imaginary bullets or rubber bands. How things have changed. Now with foam bullets, you feel safe they are not breaking any TV’s, windows or mirrors inside the house. Great alternative than kids playing video games or turning them into couch potatoes in front of the tube.

The Nerf N-Strike Maverick has a rotating barrel with 6-bullet capacity and comes with 6 suction bullets.

1) It does not jam as often as other Nerf shooters.
2) It also accepts different types of ammunition – suction darts, strimline, whistlers, etc.

Both of which are the source of frustration with our N-Strike Recon CS-6.

The maverick is much easier to handle and maneuver than the longer guns. It is also easier to reload for smaller kids. I always need to help my 5-yr old to cock the gun for the CS-6, not with the Maverick. With this gun, they can play all by themselves without pestering you to cock the gun with every shot.

When not hiding behinds couches, and chasing each other around the house, they are busy targeting stacks of plastic cups placed on the window sills as targets. This is what kids’ fun is all about, lots and lots of it. I have to stop my boys turning my couches into trampolines whenever they do a victory dance.

I bought four of these for a lawn party, to which my friends brought their children, aged 7 to 12. I only wish I had bought ten! The children all had great fun with the nerf guns, and no one was injured, nothing was broken, and all of the guns survived :) .

The recon cs6 is a very accurate nerf gun. It is very good at secretly shoting. I am nine years old and I love this gun. I like that no matter what positition you’re in,you are just as accurate!

Newson May 4, 2010 at 6:15 pm

I got the recon a few weeks ago. the flip up site keeps coming off its hinges and its hard to pop it back in. when i gat it it only fired a foot because the spring wasn’t in plroply. you half to unscrew the blak bit at the back and push it back in;once you do that;it goes for 30-60 feet depening how high you aim it.the laser sight sight is ok. you realy need 2 nerf guns to have any fun(and another person but that goes without saying) it has absoloutly positivly no educaional perpoes at all. all and all I give it 4 stars

First of all this is not what the commercial says it is. It does not shoot that far…brand new it shoots about 20 feet.
Plus, it is not that powerful. So if you were me, I wouldn’t buy it.

P.S. It is heavy!

Okay, the CS-6 is a nice nerf gun.
The range is okay. You get somewhere around 25 feet with this gun without modding it.
The gun comes as a pistol with 4 attachments: A barrel, some tatical railing, a “Scope” (It’s really just a peice of plastic), and a lazer that doesn’t work.
You can fit the parts however you chose to get away from the orignal pistol, but I WARN YOU: THE BARREL IS VERY HARD TO TAKE OFF.
The clip is very hard to take off, as well. For all you kids out there, you’re going to need your parent’s help.
The item only comes with enough darts to fill one clip, and that’s not enough if you’re planning to use that outside, Buy some refills.
It’s really durable, though. I can shoot without shooting out a dart as many times as I want, and the gun still hasn’t broken. You can tell it hasn’t broken if when you slide back with the hard to reload with just one hand on the gun reload system, a orange thing will pop up on the back.
So yeah. That’s about it.
See you.

I could lie to you and say that I bought this blaster for my son but I got it for myself. It’s a must have for any nerf collection. I ended up getting a second one so my son and I wouldn’t fight over it. The only thing that I didn’t care for is the lack of power. It could be a little stronger. Good for close quarters though. All and all it makes a pretty good back up blaster.

this is a good gun the problem is they should have added a spring loaded barrel
it would add coolness to the gun

The Nerf Deploy absolutely blows all other Nerf blasters away with it’s durable but effective design. I, like many others, think the stealth idea is very hard to use in real life. I fail to see what it would look like other than a HUGE flashlight! Overall it is a very safe toy that shouldn’t get recalled any time soon. whenever it is changed into a blaster, it is a fast but not powerful blast that won’t hurt you if it hits you in the shoulder or something. It’s range and power is very impressive, In some cases it will shoot farther than the longstrike or longshot. The scope gimmick is not a big part of the design. Before i bought the blaster, I thought that the scope would be red or glowing but it really just is a hole in the top with a spike at the end. Other attachments include an option to attach an extension that comes with the recon, longshot, or longstrike. Also it holds one streamline dart at the front of the shotgun pump that falls out frequently. In my opinion, the Nerf Deploy was a fantastic purchase for a low price.

I run weekend-warrior games of Humans Versus Zombies, and since I am the Human Team leader, i need an impressive armament.

I used the Recon and Maverick my first game, and both of those are pretty decent. I then decided to impress by picking up the Deploy, and I am pretty happy with it.

Pros:
-Quick-release button is not only practical, but very intimidating to Zombies, as your blaster is fully assembled in 1 second.
-Shotgun priming system is very easy to use and reliable.
-Red light is good for night missions/games
-First Nerf gun to actually include a carrying strap; perfect to sling around the shoulder and grab your secondary
-Accepts barrels from Longshot, Longstrike, and Recon (Recon barrel looks WICKED AWESOME)

Cons:
-Reverse-plunger system (like the Longstrike and Recon) is notorious for shorter distances, and jams (if used improperly or with bent darts)
-Don’t expect this to act like a sniper rifle; it’s an ASSAULT rifle (meaning short-medium distance shots)
-Collapsable handle isn’t as stable as one would like.
-Lots of noise while firing…not much of a problem for people, but the rattle bugs me sometimes.

All in all, its a very decent gun, and you cant beat the price for something as decent as the Deploy (though the Recon came kinda close)
